Killarney Adventure Race - Paddy's Weekend 2015

The Killarney Adventure Race is a one day multi-adventure sport race that will take place in the Killarney National Park, along the Kerry Way and in the Black Valley on Saturday 14th March. With a 55km or a new 33k route to choose from, this race is suitable for all different levels of fitness.

This race will give competitors the chance to run, hike, cycle and kayak some of the most dramatic, breathtaking and remote scenery located anywhere in the world.

Killarney's May Racing Festival takes place over 3 days in May, commencing on Sunday 10th of May which is an afternoon meet. Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th of May are both evening meetings. The May festival promises the very best of festival racing with a great atmosphere.

Ireland BikeFest 2015

Ireland BikeFest is an international motorcycle festival based in Killarney every year. It takes places annually on the June Bank Holiday Weekend and it is Ireland’s largest free open biker festival. Over 30,000 were in attendance last year and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Live music acts, as well as the annual Ireland BikeFest Parade in aid of Muscular Dystrophy Ireland are just two of the many highlights in what is one of the best weekends taking place in the South-West of Ireland and beyond. Many a non-biking lover have been won over by the friendliness, charm and appeal of such an unique and wonderful festival experience.

Killarney Festival of Music & Food

Over 60 Irish and international musicians and bands will perform at Killarney Festival of Music & Food including Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Texas, The Proclaimers, The Undertones, Wallis Bird, Mick Flannery, Gemma Hayes, Mundy, Paddy Casey, Declan O’Rourke, The 4 Of Us, Something Happens, The Frank & Walters, Daithí, Gangs, Oh Boland, Steven Sharpe & The Broke Straight Boys, Tracey Bruen and Lloyd Yates. Headliners and additional acts will be confirmed in the coming months leading up to the festival.

The Comedy Tent which is always hugely popular at the festival will feature ten top comedians from home and abroad including actress and comedienne Deirdre O’Kane and Après Match with Barry Murphy, Risteard Cooper and Gary Cooke. Après Match mocks famous, mostly Irish, soccer stars and pundits including Bill O'Herlihy, Eamon Dunphy, Johnny Giles, Liam Brady, Frank Stapleton, Colm Murray, and Graeme Souness, as well as pundits from the UK sports channels, including Richard Keys, Andy Gray, Jamie Redknapp, Gary Lineker and Alan Hansen.

The Killarney Gourmet Food Village will be an extensive showcase of wine and food not only for the region of Kerry but for Ireland as a whole. The food village will be dedicated to excellence in taste and food lifestyles. The area will feature well established restaurants from around Ireland, local artisan food producers and culinary demonstrations by some of Ireland’s finest celebrity and Michelin Star chefs including Derry Clarke from L’Ecrivain who will show foodies how to prepare Michelin star dishes at home. Food vendors offering cuisine from around the world will also be on site to cater for up to 20,000 festival goers over the weekend.

There will be a Wine Bar featuring Wines of the World, a Craft Beer Lounge and a Cocktail Lounge where visitors will not only be able experience magnificent cocktails but attend Cocktail making masterclasses. A number of chill-out zones will be available for the visitors to sit and enjoy the festival atmosphere while sampling the delights that they have purchased.

The Killarney Festival welcomes all ages and of course kids under 12 years of age are allowed in for free accompanied by an adult when tickets are booked in advance. The Killarney Kids Zone (KKZ) will have a fairground, giant games and kids’ activities for all ages including arts and crafts.

The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, is the biggest one-day charity fundraising event in Munster, attracting thousands of leisure cyclists who will experience a fun and rewarding day’s cycling, completing 112 miles of the spectacular Ring of Kerry, while at the same time fundraising for a host of worthy Charities.

Killarney July Racing Festival

Killarney's July Racing Festival is one of the highlights of the summer racing season. The festival takes place over 4 days in July. Thousands attend the July races each year with the festival kicking off on Monday evening with Family Evening. Tuesday and Wednesday are also evening meetings with great racing promised. Thursday 16th of July is Ladies Day where the coveted title Queen of Fashion is awarded.

Killarney August Racing Festival

Killarney's August Racing Festival takes place over 4 days in August, commencing on Wednesday 19th August. Wednesday to Friday are all evening meetings with Saturday being an afternoon meeting as well as incorporating Ladies Day.
The Festival features the very best of festival racing, the Vincent O'Brien Ruby Stakes on the opening day of the festival always attracts some great runners. Over the four days racing the festivals offers a prize fund of nearly €400,000.
